[00:00:56] The score combined 25 points Mostly in the first quarter too, it was 10-10 after the first quarter You thought, okay Both teams had real promising first drives You know, North Carolina had that first drive And it started out and kicked the field goal TCU went right up the field and then kicked the field goal And I was like, man, this might be a fun game And then after that it was dead

[00:01:27] And then, I don't think TCU could really trash Josh Hoover's name anymore Because, good God Man, I mean, yeah, that was a rough performance from And I get it, I mean, that's a big, I mean, it's a big jump though From playing where I believe to put, to playing against an ACC opponent Even if it is North Carolina That's a big jump And, I mean, obviously He has some work to do

[00:02:01] But, you know, I don't know really what to say I guess kudos to North Carolina for looking better Than they did a year ago against TCU But, I don't know I think TCU might be really bad this year Based on that How about say, yeah, that could be a bad omen for the Horned Frogs You know, hopefully for them and their fans They, you know, snap out of it Yeah Turn it around

And you see moments of greatness from them. But then you, last year you felt a times dude, they win this game. If CJ Stroud wasn't so bad, he kind of held them back. As good as that defense was, as you know, as, as good of a coach as they have. And,

Well, I mean, pretty soon WNBA playoffs be going on. I mean, it's going to be getting a bigger fan base. Um, but yeah, I mean, we, you know, the biggest thing of course is just a lot of football about the,

[01:16:31] and we're going to have a lot of, we're about to have five days straight of football this week. I think next week we're going to have six. Cause you got to think we're going to have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. And the next week we're going to have Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. So we're going to have basically 11 days straight of football. This Thursday to the following, uh, month after Monday night,

[01:16:59] there's football until Tuesday, the, whatever the next Tuesday is after the NFL season starts. We have football every day. There's football. That's beautiful thing. Yeah. It's a beautiful, beautiful thing. Uh, we'll pop until the four. So Tuesday, the 15th, we'll have football. Hmm. It's amazing. Yeah.

[01:17:29] That is great news. Well, uh, until then, well, we're going to start enjoying it this week. Then it's Thursday. we, we got to talk about what's the name. No today. Oh, we did almost forget it again. Oh, yeah, you're right. Uh, we're going to talk. I knew it was something. I knew it was something. I was thinking, so yeah, something we really needed to talk about. I think we said a few weeks ago.

[01:17:59] Yeah. That, we were going to talk. Yeah. Talk about Notre Dame during our predictions episode. And we forgot. And then, so we, we talked about it earlier today and then we almost forgot them again. Uh, so yeah, Notre Dame national title contender. Absolutely. Uh, obviously. A lot of people have been their favorite to win. Yeah. I've seen them in quite a few things. CJ Carr back for sophomore year. Yeah. Um, we mentioned their game earlier,

[01:18:29] uh, starting off with Wisconsin at Lambeau field. Yeah. Um, yeah, I think, um, they don't have quite, you know, obviously it's tough. The beginning last year with the Miami and A&M back to back, uh, losing both and then having a fight from the back. Absolute cake schedule. Yeah. It's true. There's two real big ones on there. Yeah. And that's October 17th at BYU.

[01:18:58] And then of course Miami comes to town November 7th. Those would be two huge ones. Don't overlook November 21st. SMU comes to town. But other than that, yeah, man, I mean, rice, Michigan state, Purdue, North Carolina, Stanford, BC, Syracuse, Navy. Like, yeah. Yeah. I mean, Navy was hooking him again, but the last time we got hyped, I'm never going to get hyped about that game until Navy X pulls the upset. Yeah.

[01:19:28] Because a couple of years ago, we were like, well, and then they got obliterated. Yeah. But both the service academies are like, I don't know. They can get not. Notre Dame just took it to both of them. Obliterate, boat race, both of them. Oh, yeah. Neither one was even close to being a fun game. So, so I'm not, I'm not going to fall for that again. Yeah, no. I'm not going to fall for that again. But this is certainly, if they do not make the playoffs this year, it is absolute disappointment. Oh, absolutely.

[01:19:58] But can you imagine if they were to miss the playoff this year after being guaranteed a spot that they are, whether they're guaranteed a spot, they're in the top 12 or something like that. Yeah. I mean, first of all, that's my biggest thing. They, why are we, why are we giving them that? Yeah. I mean, cool. They're a big name, but shit. They, I mean, they had literally two big games. I should have lost both of them. You want,

[01:20:27] you want the opportunity, man, go join the conference, win the conference title and get in. Mm-hmm. Yeah. And I don't know. Everybody's like, well, you know, they should have been over Alabama. Maybe they should have been, but guess what? Going into the SEC championship game weekend, Alabama was in. Notre Dame wasn't. Okay. They were on the verge, but they still had to worry about that head to head with Miami. Now, if we both had a game that weekend and you and Notre Dame won their championship

[01:20:57] game and we got blown out like we did against Georgia, absolutely. We have no, we have no, we know, no argument, but the fact that I have an extra game and you have no game, you can't knock me for having a game against the top five team in the country when you're playing nobody and expect to jump us. That doesn't work like that. Especially, especially against the game like Alabama, you know, it's not going to happen.

[01:21:27] No. Yeah. Especially, you know, when you look at the rest of your schedule and it's like, yeah, you're right. If they just, I think even if they'd lost one, one of those games, and then, and then still had another loss somewhere else. Yeah. I still think they probably, or they wouldn't want to go, even in the split, you know, you win, you lose, you lose to Miami, you beat A&M or vice versa. You're in the playoff. Yeah. Oh yeah, for sure. Yeah. I was hearing that one loss. No questions asked,

[01:21:55] but you lost your only two games that were, the, were worth it down. I don't, I don't feel bad for them. I mean, they, they're always getting the plenty of times they've gotten the, they always get the, the benefit of the doubt. You know, the, you know, you know, should they have made the playoff end? 2020 over the Aggies. Still questionable,

[01:22:23] but you're not there with a name. Notre Dame is going to carry, carry a certain weight there. But I mean, you look at it like, for example, in the futures right now, I mean, Notre Dame is a plus six 50 to win the national title. Second, second, the only team with the bet, with less of a thing to win the title, is Ohio State at plus 600.

[01:22:52] The tie with Oregon and Texas at plus 650, according to MGM. As far as like, I think the over under is like a 10 and a half. For sure. Not today. So obviously it's do or die. Yeah. As good as that defense can be, and it can be really, really good. CJ Carr was really good last year for a freshman. He should be back. Another year experience. Of course,

[01:23:22] does lose Jeremiah love and then price. Yeah. Yeah. Aeneas Williams, good running back, good weapons all around them. Very good offensive line. Yeah. This is a very talented Notre Dame team. And anything, you know, it's like a semi-final appearance might be kind of your baseline, your floor there for what you consider a good season. And, and sorry,

[01:23:49] it's got sports center on in the background and I turn over and they're showing, I guess the U S opens that what's going on right now highlights. And this, this woman is just beating the hell out of her racket on the ground. I mean, working it. So right now, all over and under 11 and that, not to, I said 10 and a half. It's right now. MGM has it, but over 11 and a half. And it's only a plus one 50. Wow, man.

[01:24:20] Minus 700. They're going to make the playoffs. Yes is minus 700. No, is it plus 500? So that's how high we thought of Notre Dame is as far as making the playoffs this year, but only a plus one 50 to 11.5. Basically you're saying we're almost at even for going undefeated this year. Insane. And yeah, you have three, three big games there.

[01:24:50] I'm, I think the most interesting one is when they go to Provo. Yeah. We talked about that. That's, that's homecoming for the Cougars. I think it's going to be electric. It's probably a night game. I don't think they've made the time yet, but BYU, make sure you get a night game there. And it's just going to be a great game. you know, I think we, you know, you can see a classic on there. Um, Miami going to South Bend. I mean, that's classic in a cell just because of the history of,

[01:25:20] you know, Catholic versus convicts. And, you know, the, the, the situation last year, I mean, it just stories, stories there. Um, and then, you know, SMU kind of the, the new guy still trying to learn some respect as far as the national, uh, uh, football power that they, you know, really haven't had since the eighties, of course, with the, you know, after they got the death penalty, but they're back and, you know, that, you know,

[01:25:49] that's the game for them that they're trying to really say, Hey, we were really that good. That would be a plan for them. But at the same time, you know, ultra game. Trying to not, you know, so really three, three big games, but yeah, I mean, the expectations are huge. Um, how does it really, I'm not sure if there's been this high expectations. It's like Juan Paulus. Oh, wow.

[01:26:19] Uh, that's the name, man. I think after, I don't know. I'm trying to remember that. Cause after Charlie Weiss won 10 games in his first year, that was a Brady Quinn. Yeah. That's some pretty high expectations, but it wasn't quite like this though. No. Yeah. It wasn't. It was never quite this. Yeah. This is big. Yeah. This is like, man, this is like mid 90 height. Yeah. Cause anytime they've made a, you know,

[01:26:48] they made the BCS title game. I mean, it was kind of, everyone kind of knew in 2012 that the winner of that Alabama Georgia SEC championship is going to go ahead. You guys are on the table and you struggle with pit. Yeah. That's a cute. Uh, they made the playoff again in what? 20. What? In 19. They did it in 19. And whenever, yeah. Clemson beat the hell out of them one year. We'd be down in 20. Yeah. And then, yeah, we beat the hell out of them in 20.

[01:27:18] And then they did, of course they had the, yeah. Marcus Freeman, you know, after a rough couple of losses, you know, that Marshall loss, that, uh, Northern Illinois loss. Yeah. Yeah. He made that semifinal run, you know, beat Georgia, that classic game with Penn state. Yeah. game of Ohio state, you know, a better game than I thought they would, you know, it came down to the end there, and it will come back and a little drama at the end.

[01:27:47] But yeah, I mean, honestly, you look at it, you know, everybody was, they couldn't have got a better replacement for Brian Kelly. The Marcus Freeman. No. Yeah. It has been absolutely amazing. I know Notre Dame fans hate every off season. Now it seems like we get, you know, Marcus Freeman's getting NFL interest. Um,

[01:28:17] and that's, he seems like that's the only place he would ever go. Yeah. Yeah. It seems like, yeah. Why would you, I mean, you would never, we know, but I mean, he doesn't seem like, uh, he, he doesn't fit the stereotypical college coach, you know, he seems like he's, he's either there or he's in the league. Like, I don't see him, you know, going to the sec or the, or, you know, anything like that ever.

[01:28:46] Like he's not leaving Notre Dame unless it's for the pros. I seem to have that staying hard for 50 year feeling about him, you know? Yeah. Uh, well, yeah. Yeah. Expectations super high and Notre Dame as they should be. Uh, yeah. And we'll see what they do. Yeah. Let's see what goes on. And of course, now they can with the changes in the seating and all that.

[01:29:13] They can get a first round by if they happen to be one of the top four teams. Um, yeah, but still join the conference, you cowards. Uh, I get like, why you don't, but I mean, technically the ACC saved your ass after COVID and y'all shit it on them. yeah. I mean, it's Notre Dame in the big 12 is such a, or big 10 is such a natural, natural fit.

[01:29:44] Fit. Yeah. The, in a, in a just world, we have Notre Dame in the big 10 and we still have the pack 12 and the old big East. Yeah. And, or not even that, that old, like the mid two thousands, big East. Oh yeah. It was like, even some people talk about like Miami, like when Miami was in it, they were just beating the shit out of everyone all the time. Yeah. I'll give me the, give me the big East when Thursday night was big East prime time. Give me Louisville versus Rutgers. Give me, um,

[01:30:14] South West Virginia. Give me that. That was South, South Florida, Cincinnati. Yeah. Give me Cincinnati, Louisville prime 2006. Man, I have a Thursday night class. [01:31:44] Overreaction after week one is so funny. I'm about who's the national title contender. Who sucks. It's the, it's the best. After week one last year, everybody's like, or the state is back. This is awesome. The Seminoles are back. And Alabama's trash. It was like, Oh, what's the name of the, such a great offensive coordinator hiring. Look, we did that all about. Yeah. Right.

[01:32:13] That's about three weeks. I'd say, yeah. Right. It's. And then, and then you get the change from week one to week two. And then, yeah.
